Thursday 2nd February Event planned task, working on the Bald Spot, had to be changed at the last minute. The ground conditions were too wet and soft for safe access. Instead we started work on completing re-opening the glades, at the junction of the diagonal path with the lower path, and tidying up after the contractors. They had felled all the heavy stuff and brush cut what they could a couple of weeks earlier. As we were only a few hands we chose to release the noble and veteran Oak from a tangle of bramble. Despite threatening weather forecast we had a very successful day, without rain, sheltered from the high winds and had the great satisfaction of completing the task we had set out to do. So ended on a high, physically tired, mentally de-stressed and well satisfied at our achievements.
